The Hare

A hand built sculptured hare in stoneware clay body with a semi matt, aged bronze effect glaze. I like the sideways glance depicted – has a mischievous look with character!

02

A Cylinder

Wheel thrown cylinder in a duo of glazes to reflect field and sky of North Norfolk.

03

A Bud Vase

Bud vases are a favourite make of mine, mainly as there are so many shapes to create on the wheel, and of course they are perfect vessels for some floral flourish from the garden. This a two toned blues bellowed bud vase.

A Gluggle Jug

This is my version of a gluggle jug. Hand built in a neutral palette of colours to head, and multi coloured accents to main body. I wanted this make to be characterful and raise a smile, and yes, it does gurgle! A nod to a favourite TV show of mine, Great Pottery Throwdown. 2024 edition created a revival of this Stoke pottery classic in one of its pottery challenges for contestants. I like gluggles, they are fun but functional pieces!

A Shell Dish

Seashells are a frequent make of mine reflecting my love of the seaside. This is a textured shell dish, in natural glaze tones of greens and browns. Edged with bubbled sea outcrops eroded by coastal erosion- a feature of North Norfolk coastline

The Earth

My love of botanicals often reflected in ceramic makes- here a flower bloom inspired bowl with textures to create interesting glaze effects in signature earthy tones.

A Square Plate

Textured oval square plate inspired by beachscapes of Sheringham, and West Runton where the fossilised limestone deposits are often revealed at low tide.

Rhythm

Bowls are a favourite make of mine, and this one is no exception, a fluted design with a wider rim and smaller base maketh a great shape for applying exciting multiple glaze combinations to great effect. Dangers of stray glaze on kiln shelves are safely contained within bowl interiors so can be more liberally applied. Rhythm and patterns magically emerge from final glaze fire.

Seed Head

A small hand built vessel – bud vase. Reflecting botanical and natural forms, this piece is likened to a seed head. The glaze here is one of my favourite combinations – with a natural palette of blues, greens and browns.

A Hand-Built Bowl

Hand built bowl heavily textured both on rim and interiors. I love the way glazes react with these textural forms to create unique and beautiful ceramic pieces

A Norfolk Seal

A hand built sculptured north norfolk seal in a mottled effect blue glaze. Traditionally grey, this is a nod to sea inspired coast where these mammals thrive.

Glazes Like Candle Wax
