Anglian Potters – Undercroft Exhibition- Norwich

“Anglian Potters is an organisation that aims to provide an opportunity for members to meet & share their experience & enthusiasm about clay”. I’ve finally joined as a member this year , although I’ve been visiting this exhibition for the past three years now. I’m always enthralled by the talent of our local potters and ceramatist in this region. I love the venue too. It’s a hidden surprise to find an exhibition underground. I’m told this was the former storage depot for local market traders bygone years before modern refrigeration. So it can be a tad fresh underground, but that adds to the atmosphere- just maybe wear an extra layers if visiting on a cooler day! What is great is the staging and lighting- its sets off the wonderful pieces on display.

This year’s exhibition was no exception, with a fab range of makes from functional, decorative, and abstract. Its also lovely to meet the makers themselves – most have a turn at manning the cash desk/invigilating so there’s always someone on hand to have a chat about all things clay related!

I’ve been encouraged to exhibit, and think I now have enough experience and “know how” to assemble a collection for next year’s exhibition 2025!

Please do visit this gem of an exhibition it runs everyday (except Monday) until Sunday 21st April.
